State lifts majority of virus restrictions as vaccination rate reaches 70%
Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Today (6/15/21) that New York State will lift the majority of its COVID-19 restrictions effective immediately.
On June 7, Governor Cuomo said restrictions would be lifted once 70% of adults in New York received at least one dose of the vaccination.
Monday evening, the CDC reported 70% of adults in the state received at least one dose.
The following state-mandated COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted across the following commercial and social settings:
- Sports and recreation
- Construction
- Manufacturing
- Trade
- Child Care
- Camps
- Food Services
- Offices
- Real Estate
- Buildings
- Agriculture
- Fishing
- Forestry
- Amusement Parks and Entertainment Facilities
- Personal Care Services
- Gyms
- Retail
- Malls
- Movie Theaters
This means, the following state-mandated restrictions have been lifted:
- Social Gathering Limits
- Capacity Restrictions
- Social Distancing
- Health Screening
- Cleaning and Disinfection Protocols
- Contact Information and Tracing
Cuomo said, per the CDC, masks and other virus precautions still exist for health care settings.
