I was born in Binghamton and I have been extremely blessed to have had a history with this community as a broadcaster for over 30 years. The love affair (radio) started in the 80’s and is still going today. I have been a morning man, program director, public affairs director and even a news reporter at various stations. My introduction to radio broadcasting started as an intern in the early 80’s! I have been blessed with a colorful and eclectic career that includes all genres of music. I am truly honored to be a part of Magic 101.7 and I hope you will join me weekdays from 5am until 10am for Binghamton’s Rock Hits!

Hey! I’m Rich Birdsall, The Program Director of Magic 101.7 and you don’t get any more local than me. I was born and raised right here in Binghamton. I graduated from Chenango Valley High School and I have been a DJ on what seems like every radio station in the Southern Tier. I have a loud mouthed pup named Convoy who will probably bark at you TOO LOUD and then lick you to death. You might spot me out at a charity event because I try to visit as many as I can. My TV watching is minimal, but if I have a chance to relax, its Vice Grip Garage, Rust Valley Restorers, Ghost Adventures or Expedition Unknown on my stream TV. I’m a big tech geek and I love to figure out new ways of doing things that involve technology. I’m available to chat whenever and answer all my social media myself.

Tanya
Afternoon Drive on Magic 101.7.
Tanya is the mother of Caleb & Alexis, both very musically inclined and can play several instruments. Caleb is in a band! Much to Miss Tanya’s dismay, both of her Children are taller than she is. She loves tattoos and has several, including 52 stars! She’s a die hard Eminem fan! Tanya has seen him several times in concert and even participated in an MTV special that he was on, and continues to stalk him! She originally aspired to be a special effects make-up artist for horror movies. Even though she is terrified of horror movies… Tanya LOVES the outdoors. Except in the winter. If its cold, she can’t even (yes, she can hike in heels)!

Heather Black
Nights at Magic 101.7.
Heather grew up in Broome County and has spent most of her adult life on the air in one way or another.
She’s a mom to 3 grown skin puppies (a boy and two girls) and 2 fur babies (a pitbull and a beagle).
When she’s not on the air, you can find her making any kind of weird art, from dolls to hand painted signs.
Currently a resident of Harpursville, NY, Heather is thrilled to be on the air right here in her hometown!

Tejay Schwartz
Weekends on Magic 101.7.
Hey Tejay here … I was born in Denmark and moved to the US with my family when I was 3. I grew up in Upstate NY and have lived here since. I graduated from JC High school and Suny Sullivan, where I studied communications and media. I’ve been LUCKY to have spent over 30 years with my biggest love, radio.
After working at several stations across town, I’ve spent most of my years here at Magic 101.7 and on 102.5 The Vault, where I get to wake you up every morning, help program The Vault and take care of traffic (scheduling commercials) for both our stations.
Thanks for making us your favorite radio stations and I look forward to many years of playing the best music on the radio for you.

Weekends on Magic 101.7.
Hi everybody, I’m Jerry James. I was born in Lafayette, Indiana. In those days everyone listened to radio.As a kid I had dreams of playing music on the radio. After high school, I got my chance to be on the radio in Indiana. From two stations in Indiana, I worked 12 years in Hannibal, Missouri and 10 years in Des Moines, Iowa. Working in Binghamton as one of the Breakfast Flakes was great fun. I was retired until my friends Alex and Steve asked me to be on Magic 101.7. Here I am doing what I love again.
